I am writing to formally escalate the ongoing mechanical issues with my 2026 BMW X2, which I purchased approximately one year ago from BMW of Norwood. Since less than a month after purchasing this vehicle, I have experienced recurring fuel-system-related vibrations, excessive rattling, and a check-engine light. Despite numerous visits to the dealership, repeated complaints, and ongoing communication with the service department, this issue remains unresolved. Initially, I was told that the noise might be coming from the gas tank cover and that I may not have been closing it properly. At first, the vibration was relatively subtle, but within three to four months, it became progressively louder…
When starting my car and moving it into the reverse position or drive it starts to sometimes stalls. It doesn't happen all the time but does happen. It tells me the car is not in park. I brought it to a shop and they said it's the crankshaft sensor and there is a recall for cars like mine but not my specific vin. The car shop had it happen to them as well and they confirmed it. No warnings before it happened.

On 6/12/2024, my right engine mounts collapsed and needed immediate repair to keep the engine secure. On 7/6/2026, I took my car for service and was informed via video that the right engine mounts had collapsed again and required replacement. I repeatedly explained to the dealership that the mount installed on 6/12/2024 only lasted about 27,000 miles. The service center then had a team leader take a look and said to disregard what the video shows of a collapsed mount; that it's only cracking and that can wait. The dealership refused to cover the cost of the mounts, instead charging me a discounted rate, claiming that the warranty was only for two years, despite my car not providing any servi…
I am requesting an executive review of my ongoing case regarding my 2026 BMW X2. Since purchasing the vehicle approximately seven months ago, I have experienced several recurring issues that remain unresolved despite numerous visits to the dealership and multiple communications with BMW Customer Relations. The primary concerns include: ⢠A loud and persistent noise coming from the rear driver's side of the vehicle.â¨â¢ A recurring check engine light.â¨â¢ A reverse warning notification appearing on the vehicle's screen while I am driving forward. The vehicle has been returned to the dealership on multiple occasions for diagnosis and repair. I have also provided videos documenting these …
While driving a drivetrain warning â ï¸ was detected and code was displayed on the I drive, along with a CEL. The vehicle is in limp mode so I was unable to accelerate past 35-40 mph. Took the car into the dealership and was informed that my waste gate actuator failed @59,388 miles. The part is an electric controller and can fail without warning. In my opinion 59,000 miles is extremely early for a part that controls boost pressure at the turbocharger. Found numerous complaints about this component and I feel it should be recalled by the manufacturer. This component was an issue on older models and BMW extended the warranty to 15 years/150,00 miles.
Enterprise rental regional manager Amber Backman is allowing staff to release vehicles after having criminal damage to them and even on the release paperwork she allows techs to send it clearly states Windshield star and all her workers think that it is ok and "normal" to do these things. I repeatedly attempted to redirect staff and they are selling DW/CDW as insurance and making customer provide them PII over the phone or else they have to bring it in for them to inspect. Even after speaking to David Neighbors who is allegedly the Risk or compliance supervisor and he finally took the Avondale IR number he did not addess the lack of knowledge and compliance of staff and how the manager Amb…
Driving the car from Dallas to Santa Fe with our 20lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, the dog put his paw on the Park button (just in front of the console cover and behind the shifter knob) and the car immediately went into a hard braking action. I almost lost control of the car when this happened; and at 75mph!!
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20
NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2018–2026, owners most often name: unknown or other, electrical system, exterior lighting. 30 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
