What Audi TT owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Audi TT safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The vehicle systems named most often in Audi TT complaints (one complaint can name several).
In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
Driving on my commute to work. Airbag and passenger seat recognition light came on. Error on my car screen says safety system malfunction. Undetermined if itâs both the driver and or passenger seat. Safety at risk should there be an accident and airbag not deployed. Warning lights have been on since September 1, 2025. It comes on and off at random times. 3rd party auto repair confirmed service codes indicates it is a system failure.
Fuel tank and EVAP canister has failed on my car out of nowhere. Yes available for inspection. The safety of me and others have been comprised as the fuel is no longer going into my car, but rather leaking out the excess drain hole potentially causing a fire or igniting without me knowing. Along with air being introduced into the fuel tank my engine was sputtering as I had no idea what was happening until later. Once air was mixing with the fuel and the car was running it was hard to drive past 45mph without the car struggling and violently shaking and jerking. Therefore possibly being a hazard for other drivers as I was driving on both highway and local roads. Dealer has confirmed the is…
Loss of power on highway, engine shaking, after that driving 20 mph with emergency lights because of no place to full stop.
FUEL LINE, SUPPLY LINE FROM HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP TO ENGINE, HAS NOW NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO LEAKING. THE LEAKING IS MORE LIKE A SPRAYING AND CAUSING GAS TO GET ALL OVER THE ENGINE BAY AND THE GROUND. THIS OCCURS MOST WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING. WHEN THE CAR IS OFF IT IS A LEAK WITH ABOUT 10 DROPS PER MINUTE.
THE TRIM ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FRONT SEATS IS LOOSE AND BROKEN, I AM CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAG WON'T DEPLOY PROPERLY IF NOT ADDRESSED BY AUDI. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $2700 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED AUDI CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY HAVE ADVISED THAT IT IS CUSTOMER PAY DUE TO BEING OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD.
DRIVER SEAT: THE PLASTIC HOUSING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT, NEAR THE HEADREST, HAVE POPPED OPEN AND PULLED AWAY FROM THE SEAT. THE IS THE AREA WHERE THE SIDE AIRBAGS ARE STORED AND DEPLOY FROM DURING A COLLISION. PASSENGER SEAT: THE PLASTIC HOUSING HAS POPPED/PULLED AWAY ON THE PASSENGER SEAT, NEAR THE HEADREST. THIS IS WHERE THE SIDE AIRBAGS ARE STORED. VEHICLE HAS BEEN STATIONARY. OCCURS WITH TEMPERATURE CHANGES OR WORSENS WHEN PASSENGER/DRIVER IN RESPECTIVE SEAT.
MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHIFT ODDLY WHILE DRIVEN. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL AUDI DEALER AND PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY AND LEAKING MECHATRONIC SYSTEM.
WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS, WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE, CAR JERKS MECHTRONIC AND TRANSMISSION. CAN RESET BY SHUTTING CAR OFF AND RESTARTING. THAT NO LONGER WORKS. ONLY DRIVES IN 2ND GEAR. NO REVERSE. CAR IS NO LONGER DRIVABLE
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
This bulletin provides general information about the current tpp issues for Audi connect.
This bulletin provides information when the horn sound quality is poor.
This bulletin provides informaitn when there is a warning messsage; "Instrument cluster: fault. Limited warning messages. Please contact workshop"; DTC B200096.
This bulletin provides informaiotn when there are rattling/grinding noises reported from the front end.
A particularly noticeable factor is the vibration of the air column in a tire. When a tire starts to vibrate because of the road contact, this can lead to cavity resonances inside the tire that are transmitted via the wheel rim and the running gear to the vehicle interior. Because of the vehicle design and due to the specific properties of different wheel and tire combinations, a whining noise can occur at high speeds. This is a result of toroidal resonance whose frequency is noticeable between 180 - 250 Hz irrespective of the vehicle speed.
This bulletin provides information when there are cracks on the friction ring surface on ceramic brake discs.
This bulletin provides information when there is a wheel/tire imbalance.
This bulletin provides information for all models regarding brake sounds.
This bulletin provides information on the zirconium insercts in the brake piston (ceramic brakes only).
This TSB describes a corrosion issue due to outside influence and the prohibition of warranty in these cases.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2024, owners most often name: power train, air bags, seats. 17 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
