While driving, car suddenly started overheating. Warning message asked me to pull over and let the car run idle. However, I was on a free way that was under construction and all shoulders were closed. So no way for me to stop for at least 4 miles. I was afraid that the engine would blow while driving the whole time. Took it to the dealer and they told me that the water pump is faulty. After looking at some Audi forums, it seems like this is a common issue with these vehicles. Iâm surprised there has not been a recall since I am not the first person that this has happened to.
The car continues to smell like coolant and burns excessive oil. It has been taken in for service. Repairs have been attempted but problem still exists. On one occasion, service records indicate a test drive when the mileage remained the same. The oil consumption test I do not believe was performed correctly as I did not get the specific data metrics or points regarding starting point of measurement and end point. They also completed the test at only 1200 miles after requesting for them not to. I am concerned they are trying to hide a design flaw since they redesigned the piston rings when cars were burning excessive oil, bulletin # MC-10245613-0001. They continue to deny oil consumption iss…
The car stopped in the middle of the intersection due to a 48V issue that is back ordered worldwide. It has been in the shop five times in reference to this stopping multiple times in the road.
The front driver and passenger windows started delaminating. Rear side glass is fine. Audi of Van Nuys took pictures. Audi paid for the glass but charged me $1100 for labor.
WE WERE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE RUNNING FINE. AFTER GETTING OFF OF THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, WE APPROACHED AN INTERSECTION TO TURN LEFT. I SLOWED DOWN TO TURN THE CORNER AND THE VEHICLE STALLED IN AN INTERSECTION WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER 5 MINUTES OF TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE AND GET OTHER VEHICLES TO GO AROUND, I WAS ABLE TO LIMP THE VEHICLE OVER INTO A PARKING LOT. WE GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS LATER TOLD BOTH TURBO CHARGERS HAD FAILED.
VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC, RANDOMLY, WITH NO OTHER WARNING SIGNS. SUBSEQUENT ATTEMPTS TO RE-START THE CAR FAILED. CAR NEEDED TO BE PUSHED OUT OF TRAFFIC AND TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A TURBOCHARGER FAILURE IN ONE BANK (DRIVER'S SIDE) THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A TSB FOR THIS ISSUE FROM AUDI AS A RESULT OF A CLOGGED OIL SCREEN THAT LED TO OIL STARVATION AND EVENTUAL CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE TURBOCHARGER ASSEMBLY.
I CONTACTED MULTIPLE AUDI DEALERSHIPS REGARDING CONCERNS ABOUT MY CAR CONSUMING LARGE QUANTITIES OF OIL IN-BETWEEN OIL CHANGES AND THAT THE OIL CAP HAD AN INCREASED AMOUNT OF SUCTION WHICH MY AUDI CERTIFIED MECHANIC SAID WAS AN INDICATION OF THE PCV VALVE FAILING. I ASKED THEM TO LOOK AT REPLACING THE PCV VALVE BEFORE IT WENT BAD AND RISKED TAKING OUT MY TURBOS AND ENGINE, WHICH HAPPENED TO A PREVIOUS AUDI S7 I OWNED, AND THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T LOOK AT IT AGAIN UNLESS IT WAS MAKING A WHISTLING SOUND. AUDI KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS PART. INSTEAD OF FIXING THE ISSUE TO PREVENT BIGGER PROBLEMS FROM HAPPENING, THEY ARE MAKING THE CONSUMER ROLL THE DICE AND HOPE THEIR CARS DON'T BLOW UP…

A particularly noticeable factor is the vibration of the air column in a tire. When a tire starts to vibrate because of the road contact, this can lead to cavity resonances inside the tire that are transmitted via the wheel rim and the running gear to the vehicle interior. Because of the vehicle design and due to the specific properties of different wheel and tire combinations, a whining noise can occur at high speeds. This is a result of toroidal resonance whose frequency is noticeable between 180 - 250 Hz irrespective of the vehicle speed.

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2014–2026, owners most often name: engine, electrical system, unknown or other. 17 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
