What Audi RS 6 owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Audi RS 6 safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The vehicle systems named most often in Audi RS 6 complaints (one complaint can name several).
In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
My Audi RS6 has experienced a failure involving the engine cooling system/water pump that requires repair. This appears to be a recurring issue among C8 RS6 owners. Other owners have reported water-pump failures, coolant loss, overheating, drivetrain malfunction warnings, turbo underboost faults, and vehicles entering reduced-power or limp mode. Audi has also issued technical service information addressing coolant-pump leakage and related cooling-system problems. I am asking NHTSA to investigate this issue because the potential safety consequences appear to extend beyond an expensive mechanical repair. If the cooling-system failure occurs while driving, the vehicle may overheat, display ur…
My Audi RS6 has experienced a recurring central locking/door latch malfunction. The vehicle displays a âCentral Locking System Malfunctionâ warning and the affected door does not operate normally. This appears to be a known issue affecting the C8 Audi platform. Audi has issued a Technical Service Bulletin addressing front and rear door-lock failures on the RS6 and other related models. Audiâs own bulletin describes conditions including doors that cannot be opened from the outside or inside, central-locking/exit-warning messages, and situations where a vehicle is locked but a door can still be opened. The bulletin also identifies faults involving the central-locking mechanism and state…
Continued central locking malfunction warning, predominantly on the passenger side doors. Car will not lock properly in this state, leaving the car in an unsafe state. Have had the passenger front lock replaced previously, but continue to get the problem since purchase.
Repair (component replacement) performed under Audi recall 27BQ (or 27BQ_DLR_LAUNCH) for faulty starter-alternator that can cause immediate catastrophic failure of all electrical systems affecting powertrain, steering, suspension, safety features, and emissions equipment has failed after 12 months and 2,516 miles. The replacement component suffers from the same catastrophic failure. Car indicates sport differential malfunction, suspension malfunction, steering malfunction, start/stop system malfunction, stabilization system malfunction, and safety system malfunction simultaneously.
The rear camera on the car repeatedly does not work. The car has been to the dealership for replacement parts several times with the problem recurring. The rear camera does not work most days. In addition, the other cameras have failed repeatedly resulting in safety systems such as automatic collision sensors working and not-working randomly when driving the vehicle.
Loss of electrical power while cruising on the interstate at 65 mph. There was a series of warning messages, YELLOW colored malfunctions such as "Sport differential malfunction", "electric system malfunction". Then RED colored warning message "Electric system: Malfunction! Safely stop vehicle." At this point, engine was running but was no longer connected to the transmission, Power steering failed. All I could do was coast to the shoulder and stop. Car would not restart. Appeared to be a complete electrical failure, e.g., could not raise or lower windows.
The generator cut off and the car coasted to a stop. The generator on these vehicles is failing on almost every single one.
The last few times I've started my car, the instrument cluster takes multiple minutes before it turns on, while the yellow check engine and red warning lights flash repeatedly.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
This bulletin provides general information about the current tpp issues for Audi connect.
This bulletin provides information when the horn sound quality is poor.
This bulletin provides informaitn when there is a warning messsage; "Instrument cluster: fault. Limited warning messages. Please contact workshop"; DTC B200096.
A particularly noticeable factor is the vibration of the air column in a tire. When a tire starts to vibrate because of the road contact, this can lead to cavity resonances inside the tire that are transmitted via the wheel rim and the running gear to the vehicle interior. Because of the vehicle design and due to the specific properties of different wheel and tire combinations, a whining noise can occur at high speeds. This is a result of toroidal resonance whose frequency is noticeable between 180 - 250 Hz irrespective of the vehicle speed.
This bulletin provides information when there are cracks on the friction ring surface on ceramic brake discs.
This bulletin provides information when there is a wheel/tire imbalance.
This bulletin provides information for all models regarding brake sounds.
This bulletin provides information on the zirconium insercts in the brake piston (ceramic brakes only).
This TSB describes a corrosion issue due to outside influence and the prohibition of warranty in these cases.
This bulletin provides information when there is corrosion on the friction survace of steel brake discs.
This bulletin provides information when there is an issue with wireless charging/wireless charging is not working.
This bulletin provides service infomraiton regardin gthe identifaction of noises with dynamic steering.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2021–2026, owners most often name: electrical system, power train, steering. 8 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
