Failed Recall Remedy / Recurring Safety Defect: Electronic Power Steering BindingMy vehicle previously underwent the official manufacturer remedy for NHTSA Safety Recall Campaign 24V744 (Acura steering gearbox defect). The recall is marked as "Completed" on my VIN.Despite the remedy being performed, the dangerous safety defect has fully returned. While driving at highway speeds, the electronic power steering (EPS) exhibits a severe "sticky" and "notchy" sensation. The steering wheel momentarily catches, binds, and resists minor steering inputs, requiring excessive physical force to break the steering free, which results in sudden, dangerous overcorrections. When I returned the vehicle to an a…
Incident occurred on 9/17/26 while driving at highway speed. When taking a left hand curve steering wheel feels sticky and bumps while going around curve. No issues noted when taking a right hand curve. No issue when making a hard (90 degree) left hand or right hand turn and no issues noted with slight curves in road. Only noticed while in significant left hand curves at speeds of 35-65mph. In addition, while driving straight, steering wheel intermittently ticks with no change in direction of vehicle. Car is scheduled for diagnostics on Monday, 9/21/26. Car will not be driven outside of taking it to the dealership on 9/21 due to feeling unsafe while taking left hand curves. This is th…
2025 Acura Integra A Spec- I have driven the car around 12,000 miles total and recently have been noticing the steering wheel is âstickingâ intermittently. Very dangerous especially because itâs more likely to happen on the highway on long gradual turns

While approaching a slowing car on the offramp, the Acura's automatic braking slammed on the brakes abruptly while flashing "Brake" on the dash. The car stopped well short of the car in front. This abrupt, uncommanded stopping resulted in a near miss whereby the driver behind my car nearly hit me. In addition to stopping sooner than required, and thus giving the driver behind me less chance to react, the system did not apply full braking force, but more like 90-95% of maximum braking force. This is an example of Schroedinger's automatic emergency braking, where a situation is simultaneously "unavoidable" such that the car intervenes, yet not dire enough to apply full braking. This car will s…
The contact owns a 2025 Acura Integra. The contact stated that while driving through an intersection at approximately 15 MPH, another vehicle ran the red light and struck the front passengerâs side of the vehicle, causing the contact to crash into another vehicle before coming to a stop. The contact stated that upon the initial impact, his wife's head struck the front passengerâs side window. The contact stated that there was a delay in the side curtain air bag deploying, and the passenger was trapped between the air bag and the side window. The contact exited the vehicle from the driver's side and opened the passengerâs side door from the outside to free his wife. There was no warning…
On Sunday, June 7th at around 1330, the sunroof spontaneously exploded outward while driving in Amarillo, TX. Was driving at highway speed, 60mph on I-27. No overpass above and no cars in front. Was around 95 degrees and sunny outside. Loud explosion inside of car, then sounds of glass going on top of roof and back deck of car. Driver of car did not swerve but immediately braked and pulled to side of highway but did cause immediate distress. Passenger in car also was extremely distressed when loud noise occurred. Car behind us saw black glass go upward and out ward with glass landing on their car which caused then to immediately slow down on highway. We were fortunate to have the insid…

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On November 29, 2023, the Oï¬ce of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Engineering Analysis (EA23003) to assess allegations of momentary increase in steering eï¬ort in model years (MY) 2022-2023 Honda Civic, 2023MY Honda CR-V, and 2023MY Acura Integra vehicles (subject vehicles). The complaints received by ODI alleged that the subject vehicles experienced a momentary increase in required steering eï¬ort (described as âsticky steeringâ) occurring mostly at highway speeds after driving

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2023–2026, owners most often name: steering, lane departure, forward collision avoidance. 282 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
