Incidents: The firm has received 10 reports of the heaters tripping circuit breakers, including one report of heat-related damage to the unit. No injuries have been reported.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the heater function by switching the system to cooling mode or off, and contact their Trane or American Standard independent dealer to schedule an inspection and replacement. The system's air conditioning or cooling function may still be used. Trane is contacting its customers directly.
