Description: WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Quiksilver Inc., of Huntington Beach, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 9,700 Hide & Seek Hooded Sweatshirts. A drawstring is threaded through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.Name of Product: Hide & Seek Hooded SweatshirtsUnits: About 9,700Manufacturer: Quiksilver Inc., of Huntington Beach, Calif.Hazard: A drawstring is threaded through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. The style number 484241 (some with an M, N or NN after the number) is located on the garment's hangtag and/or the individual packaging label.Sold at: Surf and skate shops, specialty and department stores, including Macy's, Nordstrom, Quiksilver and Roxy retail stores and outlets nationwide from November 2005 through January 2006 for about $40.Manufactured In: PakistanRemedy: Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard.
